An OPG is a panoramic X-ray of the upper and lower jaw. It is also sometimes known by the proprietary names Orthopantomagraph or Panorex. It shows a flattened two-dimensional view of a semicircle from ear to ear. An OPG is a common radiograph used to identify the hard tissues of the oral cavity and the surrounding skeletal structures. It is an extraoral X-ray that approximates the burn channel of the mandible.
